Isaiah 14:24   The LORD of hosts has sworn: “As I have planned, so shall it be, and as I have purposed, so shall it stand.”

Isaiah 14:27  For the Lord of hosts has purposed, and who will annul it? His hand is stretched out, and who will turn it back?

I read those questions and think, I can. Moses turned back God’s plan more than once through intercession. Of course, that was God choosing to relent and change His mind. Only God can stop God. Moses just asked. At the same time, it’s a comfort that I can’t make a wrong decision or something and cause God’s purposes to not come about. They will be.

The context of these verses is of God’s wrath coming to break Assyria, but God can stretch out a hand for good purposes too. Jesus stretches out His hand and heals and blesses. A hand is stretched out to fill someone with the Spirit and to anoint someone for ministry.

Psalm 57:2 I cry out to the God Most High, to God who fulfills his purpose for me.

We want His purposes fulfilled in our lives. His desire is our salvation and for us to walk in the fullness of all He bought for us, and for us to be His witnesses to that salvation.

Thank you, Lord, for fulfilling your purpose for me. I give myself over to you to have your way in my life.
