Seek

There is a promise of destruction. There is also a direction of what can and should be done. Seek.

We’re to seek the Lord. We’re to seek righteousness. We’re to seek humility.

How do we do those things?

We seek the Lord in prayer and the study of Scripture.

We seek righteousness through prayer and the study of Scripture.

We seek humility through prayer and the study of Scripture.

Humility is relying on God. We need to look to God for everything. Everything is from Him.

We need to look to God to be saved. Humility says I need God’s salvation. Jesus said that He could do nothing on His own. How much less can we do! We need to be humble and rely on God.

We seek humility by learning who God is and who we are next to Him. We ask to become nothing and for Christ to become all in our lives. And we seek to know Him so we treat Him the right way.

Righteousness is knowing and doing the right thing. We receive it from Christ. He is our righteousness. We are reliant on Him. That’s humility. We need Him. We have no righteousness on our own. Filthy rags are the closest we come.

And we seek the Lord. He promises to be found if we seek with all our heart. If our heart is after Him, we will get Him. There is a time when He cannot be found, though. Now is always the time of salvation. Seek Him.

We can know that the Lord will have His remnant. He is ever mindful of them. They will be shielded and restored. There are times of trouble, but there is restoration.
