Provision

When God sends you, He provides for you to get there. When God gives you a job to do, He provides for you to carry it out. That’s what we see in Numbers 7.

He gave two wagons and four oxen to the sons of Gershon, according to their service. But to the sons of Kohath he gave none, because they were charged with the service of the holy things that had to be carried on the shoulder. You don’t have to have what someone else has, because you have a different job than they do.

A Christian blessed with money doesn’t mean they deserve the finer things in life and you don’t. It means they’ve been given a task that requires that money. It’s not your job to judge if they are fulfilling their task rightly or not. You don’t know what task they’ve been given.

I know of missionaries who were gifted a nice car which saved them lots on repairs and on gas since it was so efficient. The problem was their donations dried up because people judged them for having a nice car. In order to keep donations coming for their livelihood, they gave up the nice car that saved them money!

Yes, I know there are prosperity teachers out there misusing and abusing God’s name for wealth. We can judge a teaching as being unbiblical and the teacher for using and abusing God’s people. But we don’t need to be judging our co-workers for living differently from us. They have a different role to fulfill.

We can trust God to provide for the work given. Our family lived without an income for a year and a half. We lived off of miracles and free from debt. We know God provides.

We lived meal to meal sometimes and God always provided. The blessing was real all the time. We were no more blessed then or now that we have money in the bank. God provides in different ways at different times for His good purposes that we may or may not know.

George Muller trusted God for provision when he believed he was given the vision for what was needed. He would wait for 10% to come in and then start the project, believing God would bring in the rest. He did. He always did. God is always faithful to provide for the task He’s given us.
