Possess the Kingdom

Twice in the chapter of rulers and world dominion, we are told that the kingdom of the whole world will be given to the saints of the Most High. We will possess the land. We will possess the kingdom of the earth.

We will do that with one ruler over us, Jesus Christ, ruler of heaven and earth. He will reign over all the earth and His meek ones, His saints, will rule with him.

This kingdom will be an everlasting kingdom. God will rule and all peoples, nations, and languages will serve Him. I don’t know what that looks like in a world where saints have glorified bodies but there is a remnant of humanity still on the earth.

Jesus is given this reign by His Father. Jesus is found worthy of the task. No man could do it. He is also the only one who will be found worthy to open the scroll and set things in motion so that this glorious end will come, where He reigns and earthly kingdoms are put to an end.

This chapter also talks of other rulers. I’m not going to get into trying to interpret it. The last one I presume to be whom we call the Antichrist. He is given rule for a time and wears out the saints. But then, after a time set from the beginning, his rule will be taken away.

It’s important to remember when you are being worn out by the trials and trouble and attack, that it was ordained that the devil have this time as ruler of this world, but that his end is appointed. God has it on the calendar and will not be late in delivering him over to destruction. And God will never be late in delivering His children from their distress.
