October 5

I collected a lot of verses as I read today.

Jer. 5:31 the prophets prophesy falsely, and the priests rule at their direction; my people love to have it so, but what will you do when the end comes?

Jer. 5:10 …strip away the branches, for they are not the Lord’s.

We don’t get to create our own version of Christianity. We get to obey the commands of Christ.

Jer. 6:14  …saying, “Peace, peace,” when there is no peace.

Col. 1:20 …making peace by the blood of his cross.

Col. 1:22-23 …in order to present you holy and blameless and above reproach before him, if indeed you continue in the faith…

There isn’t peace because you proclaim it so. We have peace only through the blood of Christ and through our blameless, right standing with God by faith.

Col. 1:28  Him we proclaim, warning everyone and teaching everyone with all wisdom, that we may present everyone mature in Christ.

This verse is another one of my prayers for the Church, that we make it our aim to present everyone mature in Christ.

Col. 2:7 …abounding in thanksgiving.

Col. 1:19  For in him all the fullness of God was pleased to dwell.

You should be abounding in thanksgiving because Christ abiding in you and you in Christ means you dwelling in all the fullness of God.
