We see certain people treated special. The Lord makes a distinction.

We have the one who knows and loves the Lord.

Ps. 91:14 “Because he holds fast to me in love, I will deliver him; I will protect him, because he knows my name.”

We have Jeremiah, who served God faithfully.

Jer. 39:12 “Take him, look after him well, and do him no harm, but deal with him as he tells you.”

We have the one who trusted in the Lord and showed it by his actions.

Jer. 39:17-18 “But I will deliver you on that day, declares the Lord, and you shall not be given into the hand of the men of whom you are afraid…because you have put your trust in me…”

It’s grace and works in operation together.

2 Tim. 1:9 who saved us and called us to a holy calling, not because of our works but because of his own purpose and grace…

And His salvation puts in us the willing and the working, the love and the knowing, the trusting faith that allows us to walk in our gift of salvation.
