Jeremiah 22:30 …a man who shall not succeed in his days…
This man is a contrast to the man in Psalm 1.
“And whatever he does shall prosper.” (from Ps. 1:3)
What’s the difference?
Jeremiah 22:3 Thus says the Lord: Do justice and righteousness…
If you want to succeed and prosper, you must do what is right.
“If you do well, will you not be accepted?” (from Gen. 4:7)
How can we do well?
Jeremiah 23:6 …“The Lord is our righteousness.”
The only way we walk in what is right is by having Christ as our righteousness, not just in word, but in deed, actually living out His righteousness. When we have the joy of the Lord, we’re actually happy; when we have the Lord’s righteousness, we’re actually righteous.
“Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven” (Matt. 5:16).
Psalm 83:18 that they may know that you alone, whose name is the Lord, are the Most High over all the earth.
