Proverbs 25:4 Take away the dross from silver, and it will go to the silversmith for jewelry.
(and not from today’s reading) Isaiah 61:10 I will greatly rejoice in the LORD; my soul shall exult in my God, for he has clothed me with the garments of salvation; he has covered me with the robe of righteousness,…and as a bride adorns herself with her jewels.
To be dressed for our wedding banquet, we need the dross taken away. It’s removed by fire. Each trial of fire is a preparation for the glory prepared for us. We want to be found dressed appropriately when we get to the banquet and not as the one who was tossed out (Matt. 22:12). The trials can be painful to the body, mind, and heart, but the pain passes and joy returns and hope remains before us. Give thanks for the blessing that each trial is and hold onto joy.
Jer. 15:16 (NKJV) …Your word was to me the joy and rejoicing of my heart; for I am called by Your name…
