…like a vine in a vineyard planted by the water, fruitful and full of branches by reason of abundant water.
Ez. 19:10
The only way to produce real fruit is “by reason of abundant water.” We need to be planted by the water and have the life of the Spirit flowing through us. When we rely on ourselves and the methods of man to accomplish, we’re not allowing the water to flow and the fruit can’t be true or lasting. Only God can truly cause the growth of lasting fruit.
Ps. 106:45 For their sake he remembered his covenant, and relented according to the abundance of his steadfast love.
It stood out to me that He did it for their sake. How often do we read that He does something for His name sake or for the sake of His servants David and Abraham? The thing is He loves them. He relented because of the abundance of His love for them. That doesn’t mean we get to sin at will. We read the unjust deed is met with justice, but the wicked can turn back and find open arms ready to receive him.
