Daniel 2:18-19 …seek mercy from the God of heaven concerning this…so that Daniel …might not be destroyed…. Then the mystery was revealed to Daniel…Then Daniel blessed the God of heaven.

One of the things I have been praying for this year is that my reactions would honor God. I want my first reaction to be faith and love when something comes against me.

Daniel and the Hebrew boys have been exiled and made eunuchs. Things aren’t the best for them, but their hearts stay toward God through it all. They are godly. Their first response to learning they will be killed if they can’t do the impossible is to seek mercy from God. The first response to getting what was needed to save them isn’t to run and tell it to save themselves but to bless God.

1 Peter 3:14 But even if you should suffer for righteousness’ sake, you will be blessed. Have no fear of them, nor be troubled.

Our first reaction is to seek Him. Our first thought can be, “I am blessed in this; don’t be troubled.”
