Pr. 28:13 ESV Whoever conceals his transgressions will not prosper, but he who confesses and forsakes them will obtain mercy.
(Ps. 32:3,5) For when I kept silent, my bones wasted away through my groaning all day long…I said, “I will confess my transgressions to the Lord,” and you forgave the iniquity of my sin.
(1 John 1:7,9) But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus his Son cleanses us from all sin….If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
What I consider one of my biggest parenting wins was when one of the boys came and confessed he was struggling in his thoughts. He said that we told them Satan wants things hidden but Jesus is the light, so we’re to bring things into the light and He’ll wash it away.
It says not just confessing, but forsaking. Hate the sin (what you choose over Him) and want it gone. If you need help hating it, ask!
