Ezekiel 1:12 And each went straight forward. Wherever the spirit would go, they went, without turning as they went.
This reminded me of what I am trying to do, keep my eyes set like flint. I told you about practicing looking to Jesus. I’ve also told you about praying to be one with Christ as He was one with the Father. I want to see what He’s doing and do it with Him. I want to speak what He’s saying. I know that on my own, apart from Him, I can do nothing. I want to bear much fruit. I like this image of always being straight forward, eyes fixed on Jesus, no matter where I’m heading.
In Ezekiel 3:1, he is told to eat the scroll and then speak God’s word. We don’t live by bread alone… If we want to speak God’s word, we need to consume it first.
He provides all we need for the tasks He gives. The trees the Lord Himself planted are “watered abundantly” (Ps. 104:16). In the NKJV, that phrase is “full of sap.” That’s the Holy Spirit life in us that produces the fruit we’re after.
