My Treasured Possession

God makes a beautiful promise to His children, Israel.

He says, “If you will indeed obey my voice and keep my covenant, you shall be my treasured possession among all peoples, for all the earth is mine; and you shall be to me a kingdom of priests and a holy nation.”

If you are part of Israel as a child of God, adopted into His family, then you are part of this promise.

We are the treasured possession.

While I think of Jesus being the pearl of great price that we sell everything to get, giving up our lives to receive His, I think of the treasure in the field as us, His chosen, His children. He gives up everything (His life) to buy the whole field (the whole world), just for the treasure (us) that it holds.

Do you see yourself as God’s treasured possession?

Do you know He treasures you?

Do you know His face lights up when you come to speak to Him?

He built this whole world for you. He gave His Son for you. He watches over you and never sleeps, always caring for you. He’s your good father.
Jesus is the closest friend you’ll ever have. There’s no greater love than to lay down your life for a friend. That’s what Jesus did for you. You have no closer friend than Jesus. That’s how you should think of Him, like your closest friend.

Your Father in heaven adores you. Yes, we come first to Him through the fear of the Lord and know His awesomeness and holiness. But when we come through the cross of Christ, we are purified and made holy and perfect so we can bound into His presence and into His arms like any little child who’s the apple of their daddy’s eye.
