Do you have delight in God’s commands? Does the obedience of a life laid down thrill you? To obey His commands we have to lay down our rights to ourselves. That’s another reason why it’s hard being a Christian in America. We have this silly idea that we have rights. But just because something is lawful doesn’t mean it’s profitable. What amazing things we lose out on when we insist on our way because it’s our right. If you ever find yourself justifying something by saying to yourself that you are not under condemnation, by all means stop and get rid of it from your life.
