Be to me a rock of refuge, to which I may continually come; … And my tongue will talk of your righteous help…

Psalm 71:3, 24 ESV

The Psalmist asks God to be the refuge he can go to continually. He has to keep going back to the rock.

Our reality is needing to turn to God again and again. It’s a continual turning our eyes to God, as this world we live in is unceasingly at work distracting us. We need to always be remembering who He is and what He’s done and making the choice again to lean on Him.

One thing that helps is telling others how he helped you. It stirs up faith to be reminded of past victories. For instance, we read how the disciples were sent out with nothing, trusting the Lord to provide.

One of our faith stories started in 2008. My husband walked away from our source of income so we could work just for Jesus and the Lord provided for us by miracle. To this day we continually turn to the rock to lean on Him to provide and haven’t since had a job for provision.
