And the Lord commanded us to do all these statutes, to fear the Lord our God, for our good always…
Deuteronomy 6:24 ESV
I’m going to also add a verse I noticed earlier in the week that we haven’t quite gotten to yet.
… that he might humble you and test you, to do you good in the end.
Deuteronomy 8:16 ESV
Did you catch why it made me think of the other verse? Why does God do what He does? What does the Scripture say? For our good, to do us good…
Yes, I know the Scriptures that say God is doing something for His own sake. But I also know God. He is love. Love does not seek its own! He acts out of love for our good. He displays His power to glorify His name for our good. We need to look to Him for salvation. We need a great, glorified God to call out to and trust for our salvation!
God does it all for you. Hear His heart.
Oh that they had such a heart as this always, to fear me and to keep all my commandments, that it might go well with them…forever!
Deuteronomy 5:29 ESV
