…“Behold, I thought that he would surely come out to me and stand and call upon the name of the Lord his God, and wave his hand over the place and cure the leper.”
2 Kings 5:11 ESV
We need to be careful of daydreaming about what God’s going to do. We can miss Him while looking for our plan to be carried out, or worse, start working on getting our plan carried out in the flesh. That’s what happened to Abraham. Maybe God’s going to do it this way. They carry it out in the flesh and even feel vindicated that it was what God was doing. Of course, what they really did was create enemies for the true promised child of God.
Naaman almost missed his healing because of his wayward imagination. We can be quick to take thoughts captive that are obviously against God’s word, but we need to guard all our thoughts, even the thought of God doing some great miracle.
We don’t want to miss what God is doing because we’re looking for our own imagination of what we expect Him to do.
