I know that the Lord will maintain the cause of the afflicted, and will execute justice for the needy.
Psalm 140:12 ESV
For awhile, we lived the book of Acts. I told you how the Lord introduced healing into our lives by our 3 year old praying for our 1 year old and he was instantly healed. That had happened the first year we moved into the largest Roma community in the world. There we hooked up with a man who had a family prayer meeting each evening. Eventually they started asking for money for the doctor. We knew it was a bottomless pit and offered to pray for them. During that whole season, everyone was healed, the whole time we were there with that church plant. Cancer, ovarian cysts, broken arm, an eye surgery was canceled, a throat surgery was canceled. I told you we saw a little girl healed who couldn’t walk. A neighbor of the house church, a Muslim family, was told by doctors to take their newborn son home to die because they couldn’t do anything to help. The church gathered around the baby and prayed. He was healed and the whole family came to Christ.
We’ve often thought that part of why healings came was their need for Him. They needed Him and He met the need. That’s what I’m doing when I take my hands off and put it in God’s hand, declaring my need for Him.
