As for the word that he sent to Israel, preaching good news of peace through Jesus Christ (he is Lord of all).

Jesus preached the gospel of peace. What is the good news of peace?

Apart from Christ there was no good thing in us. Alienated from God, we were enemies of God and children of wrath, for everyone who lives according to sinful flesh is of the devil. We had no peace with God. There can only be fear of God and a fearful expectation of wrath.

Apart from Christ, we could not draw near into the Father’s presence. There is no peace apart from Christ for He Himself is our peace. Being one with Him makes us as much a son and heir as Christ Himself. With exceeding joy He presents us before the Father. There is no fear there, only Holy reverence and never-ending overflowing love, joy, and peace.

While Peter was still saying these things, the Holy Spirit fell on all who heard the word. “Can anyone withhold water for baptizing these people, who have received the Holy Spirit just as we have?”

Acts 10:44, 47 ESV

And they become one with Christ identifying with His death, burial, and resurrection and receiving in themselves the fullness of God by the indwelling of His Spirit.
