But let all who take refuge in you rejoice; let them ever sing for joy, and spread your protection over them, that those who love your name may exult in you.
Psalm 5:11 ESV
I have faced many attacks this year. At some point this winter, my husband and I were talking about what we were facing and acknowledged that it seemed so threatening, but nothing had actually touched us.
The Bible teaches us that we have a covering. The evil one does not get touch us to harm us.
My picture at the time was of a lion at a zoo raised on hind legs, roaring, teeth and claws bared, but he was behind the plexiglass. It just looked and sounded like a threat, but there was no actual threat to us.
Which is just what a Red Sea moment is, you walk through the midst with a threat looming large on all sides, but none of it touches you.
When we make God our refuge, we can ignore the threat and look to Him and rejoice, sing for joy, and exult in the God who covers us with His protection.
