You need to put to death whatever is trying to run your life. I don’t mean your mother. That’s something she needs to deal with the Lord over. 🙂 You have only one Lord, only one you submit to, only one voice that gets a say.

What are you giving control to? Fears, lusts, even prudence! The wisdom of this world is foolishness to God. It doesn’t get to direct our steps. In our reading today, Jehoshaphat gives his children a rich inheritance and fortified cities. He’s following worldly wisdom. He was trying to secure their futures. They were all about to die. They needed an inheritance of the fear of the Lord.
