I was thinking this was a picture of total justification. Justification is our being declared and made righteous in the sight of God.

When the blood covers us, we are rescued. We are brought out of Satan’s kingdom. The whole world is under the sway of the wicked one, but we are no longer under his power when we are removed from his rule. We are transferred into God’s kingdom where Christ is our Lord. We become slaves of righteousness, servants and friends of God.

When we are living in our new domain, the evil one cannot touch us (which we’ll see at the parting of the Red Sea)!
