When the child grew older, she brought him to Pharaoh’s daughter, and he became her son. She named him Moses, “Because,” she said, “I drew him out of the water.”
Exodus 2:10
The other day we read in Psalm 18 about being drawn out of the water. “He sent from on high, he took me; he drew me out of many waters. He rescued me from my strong enemy and from those who hated me, for they were too mighty for me.”
Psalm 18:16-17
David was facing an enemy that had him calling out to God for salvation. God showed Himself strong to save and was David’s deliverer, pulling him out of the water. Moses, like David, faced a great threat, had those out to kill him. God, the deliverer, brings him out of the waters.
