Surely He scorns the scornful, But gives grace to the humble.

Proverbs 3:34 NKJV

This verse from Proverbs tells us why the Lord was with Joseph during the time of his captivity. The Lord gives grace to the humble. Becoming a slave fast tracked Joseph’s road to humility.

God’s grace is sufficient for all things needful for us in any area of our lives, and God is willing and able to meet every need of His children with His super-abundant grace.

Our job is to remain humble. We need to recognize our need for God’s grace. We need to look to Him for it. We need to accept it and receive it from Him. We need to recognize that we have nothing of worth in ourselves, but have infinite worth in Christ. We have to recognize we can do nothing on our own, but can do all things through Christ.

Our living humbly is really just knowing that He’s God, and we’re not.
