2 Chronicles 7:14 is a famous verse. “If my people who are called by my name humble themselves, and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and heal their land.”
This is not just a crying out to God when a nation is in trouble. There are times God says that they will cry out to Him to save them and He won’t hear them and He won’t come to the rescue.
God knows when we’re just paying lip service and our hearts aren’t set on seeking Him but our own fleshly desires.
If you want to find God, if you want His healing, if you want His forgiveness, the first step is to be His! “If my people who are called by my name.”
Give yourself to God and choose to be His. Choose His decisions and directions for your life. Come to the cross and give up your life and ask for His through the cleansing of the blood of Christ and the filling of the Holy Spirit.
The next step is humble yourself.
You have to acknowledge that He’s right and you’re not, He’s good and you’re not, He’s powerful and you’re helpless. Acknowledge that He’s not doing anything wrong against you. Don’t accuse Him. You are the one who has done wrong and needs to confess your sin.
The next step is to pray and seek His face.
You need your relationship with God restored. Sin separates from God. We need forgiveness and repentance to restore the relationship.
Seek Him with a humble heart that desires to love God fully and to walk in His light.
The last part is the repentance, the turning from our wicked ways.
We don’t get to have our cake and eat it too. We throw out the cake and trample on it because it’s taking our eyes off of God and we hate it because of that.
If your heart is set on God, He will be found by you. He will restore your relationship with Him and as you walk again with Him, you’ll live in all the blessing that comes with the presence of God.
