There is a right way to laugh at God’s promises. Sarah had denied having laughed at the thought of God giving her a child. But now Isaac is born, and she laughs, and everyone laughs with her at what God has done for her. They rejoice in the promise fulfilled.
We are to laugh at God’s promises, and we don’t have to wait until they are fulfilled to do it. His promise is as good as done. Jesus said, “It is finished.” God’s Word can’t fail. If He said it, it will happen.
When we know God’s promise, we can know it’s ours. God has already said yes and amen! It’s a done deal. And we can laugh.
We have a home in heaven. Laugh; it’s a joyful thing.
We have a loving Father who will never forsake us. Laugh.
We have the Holy Spirit to comfort, teach, and guide us. Laugh.
We have the love of Christ poured into our hearts. Laugh.
We have the mind of Christ. Laugh.
The Spirit that raised Christ from the dead gives life to your mortal body. Laugh.
Jesus will never leave us. He is with us always, even to the end of the age. Laugh.
We have everything we need for life and godliness. Laugh.
We are seated in heavenly places with Christ. Laugh.
We are coheirs with Christ. Laugh.
We will feast at the table prepared for us in the presence of our enemies. Laugh.
God’s deliverance is sure. God’s salvation is sure. We will see His goodness in the land of the living. Laugh!
