You must not fear them, for the Lord your God Himself fights for you. (Deut. 3:22)
You are supposed to be weak. You are supposed to not be able to do it yourself.
God does give you more than you can handle. He does it on purpose. He wants you to rely on Him. He wants you to let Him fight for you. He wants to save the day. He wants to be your deliverer.
He wants to be your savior. We make lousy saviors. We can’t do it. We try, but we just can’t save ourselves. One of my sons at five years old wrote a worship song. The first line was “Jesus Christ is the greatest ever Savior of all.”
He’s great. He’s the Savior. Let Him save you. Let Him do the fighting. Let God be God. You just praise and thank Him. What an easy load we carry! It’s our job to let God love us.
Be loved. Being a Christian is the simplest thing in the world. Let God love you.
God’s children are commanded, “You must not fear.” What is fear? Fear is a rejection of God’s love for you.
Perfect love casts out all fear. You are loved perfectly with a perfect love.
Fear be gone!
When you feel fear, replace it with acknowledging God’s perfect love for you. Fall back into His loving arms. Let Him carry you through. Let Him be your shield. Let Him hide you under His wings. Let Him hold you close. Let Him love you.
Moses praises God saying: “Your greatness and Your mighty hand, for what god is there in heaven or on earth who can do anything like Your works and Your mighty deeds?” (Deut. 3:24)
That’s your God. That’s Who loves you with an everlasting love. That’s Who loves you with a steadfast love.
He doesn’t stop loving us. We reject His love. He didn’t stop loving the Israelites and turn on them. They rejected His love. It’s a free gift.
The best things in life are free.
