“He made the basin of bronze … from the mirrors of the ministering women who ministered in the entrance of the tent of meeting.”

Exodus 38:8 ESV

The women who ministered at the entrance to the tent of meeting used to look at themselves in the mirror and see a poor reflection of themselves. Now their reflection will be in the cleansing water, a true picture.

If we want to get to know ourselves, we need to get to our Father.

The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom, and the knowledge of the Holy One is insight.

Proverbs 9:10

We were created in God’s image. That’s what we should see when we look at ourselves through the lens of the cleansing waters. In Christ we are a new creation, see that the old has passed away and the new has come. We’re able to say, “I no longer live, but Christ lives in me.” It should be His reflection in that water.
