“You have led in your steadfast love the people whom you have redeemed; you have guided them by your strength to your holy abode.

God foreknew; God predestined (Romans 8:29). God had the plan and put the people in place to carry it out, knowing the choices they would make. His children’s deliverance was never in danger. God knew the danger wasn’t the Egyptians but the fear that could turn them back. He cuts off their route to turn back, crashing down the waters.

God is leading us home to Himself. The verse I copied here reminds me of Psalm 23. God is Shepherding us to our eternal dwelling with Him. There will be valleys because He knows the way we NEED to travel, and there will be a need for the staff to gently guide us on the path or to pull us out of a spot we’ve gotten ourselves into. And there will be a need for the rod to defend us from our enemies…all because of His steadfast love for us.
