Psalm 124:2-3 if it had not been the Lord who was on our side…then they would have swallowed us up alive…

1 John 5:4-5 For everyone who has been born of God overcomes the world. And this is the victory that has overcome the world – our faith. Who is it that overcomes the world except the one who believes that Jesus is the Son of God?

I love how simply it’s stated. Want to overcome the world? Believe that Jesus is the Son of God. Then you are already an overcomer.

Our faith is our victory that has already overcome. No need to fight any battles. The victory has been won. Put down your weapons. We’re called to surrender. We’re called to rest. We resist the devil by ignoring him and keeping our attention on Jesus. We resist by submitting to God and just doing what we’re supposed to be doing.

We aren’t meant to save ourselves. No need to declare truth or praise as a fighting stance or strive in any way. Just know and love your God.
