Daniel 11:35 Some of the wise shall stumble, so that they may be refined, purified, and made white, until the time of the end, for it still awaits the appointed time.
The end will come and we will be prepared because it will wait for the appointed time. God will first prepare His bride, which looks like refining and purifying. We need white garments, which are our righteous acts. Righteous acts are our doing the right things. The refining will purify our hearts so that they are set on the right things so we do those right things. That refining process might look like stumbling, we’re told, for some of the wise.
“The righteous and the wise and their deeds are in the hand of God” (from Ecc. 9:1).
A stumble isn’t a casting off. For a believer, a stumble can turn us back in the right direction and can happen firmly within God’s control and purposes, kept by His hand. But we did recently read how to keep from stumbling…
2 Peter 1:10 …if you do these things you will never stumble.
