Rev 12:11 …they loved not their lives even unto death.

This morning I loved my life. I went back to sleep. I looked at the clock and unthinkingly closed my eyes and slept another hour and a half. Here’s my big sleep fail story that has caused much regret.

I told you about the Holy Spirit coming on me as a teenager. It was the summer after my freshman year. I turned 19 just after the start of the new school year. One of the things I remember about that school year was the NEED to pray. The Lord wasn’t waking me up early then. He was keeping me up at night. I can remember praying and laying down and being COMPELLED to get back up and pray. I wasn’t done until He was finished.

One day I said to the Lord I couldn’t keep doing that. I had to get up for classes. I asked Him to take it away. He did.

So many times I apologized and asked for it back, but it never returned in the same way. When the Lord wakes me up now, after even just an hour and a half of sleep on occasion, my response is (usually!) “Thank You.”
