Zephaniah 2:3 Seek the Lord, all you humble of the land, who do his just commands;

seek righteousness; seek humility…

The humble of the land are told to seek humility. Those who do the right thing are told to seek righteousness. Isn’t that interesting? Why would the righteous need to pursue righteousness and the humble, humility?

There is no place of having arrived in our walk with Jesus. We always keep climbing onward and upward. Stagnation in our walk with Christ leads to back sliding. We slip back if we don’t dig in our feet and lean in. We press on.

We set our eyes on what is good and right, Jesus, and follow Him; we go with Him. We must know that we have and can do nothing in and of ourselves. So, we look to Him, the author and perfecter of our faith. In Him we will bear much fruit; apart from Him, we can do nothing. We need Him for everything, for life itself. Daily, recognize your nothingness and your utter need of Him. Seek humility. Seek what is right.
