Micah 7:8 Rejoice not over me, O my enemy; when I fall, I shall rise; when I sit in darkness, the Lord will be alight to me.
At one point this year, I asked the Lord to teach me the right way to think about satan because it seemed like he was partnering with God. It seemed weird to talk about “attacks” because the Lord was showing me His hand. I could see God perfectly arranging things, working out His good purposes, and teaching and training me. It was all a blessing. But I knew satan wasn’t God’s partner. I partner with God in what He’s doing in this world. He uses satan, just like He can use sin (which He hates), but God is not planning evil and seeking to harm. His thoughts toward me are peace, His intentions kind, and His motivation love.
The result is that there is no falling; I only rise. There can be no darkness; it all becomes light to me. I have no promise that the attacks will let up in the new year, but I do have a promise that whatever comes, it will be for my good.
