Psalm 44:3 “For not by their own sword did they win the land…”

We don’t wield our words as swords.

If Israel relied on their own sword, they were defeated. It was when they relied on God that enemies were taken down and new territory was conquered.

“…nor did their own arm save them, but Your right hand and Your arm, and the light of Your face, for You delighted in them” (Psalm 44:3).

They got the victory because the Lord saved them; He saved them because He delighted in them.

How can we have the Lord delighted in us?

Psalm 147:11 But the Lord takes pleasure in those who fear him, in those who hope in his steadfast love.

Proverbs 12:22b …those who act faithfully are his delight.

Psalm 119:2 Blessed are those who keep his testimonies [decrees, laws], who seek him with their whole heart.

What is the thing we’re supposed to be doing?

Ephesians 6:17-19 (NKJV) And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God; praying always with all prayer…

It’s not wielding our sword; it’s praying. That’s our job. We pray and then God does His job.

Do you want to defeat the enemies in your life and come into new places of victory? You can do it by living right before God and praying to Him for all things.
