In a final round of unhelpful things said to us by friends and strangers, we have also been told we’re cursed because we have disabled children. We’ve been told if we would just have faith and believe, he would be healed. And, related, if we would just repent of our unbelief, God would heal him.

I do believe God will heal our son in a wheelchair. We don’t bring it up, but when Nathaniel asked about God healing him, I told him we don’t know God’s plan, but God does and that God’s got his healing on His calendar.

These earthen vessels, cracked and decaying, will be tossed aside like the cut grass. They are not our future. They are temporary. That’s a word we could add to the list. One is just temporary. One is eternal.

These present sufferings are nothing compared to the glory that is to be revealed (Romans 8:18).
