April 16

I am still as strong today as I was in the day that Moses sent me; my strength now is as my strength was then, for war and for going and coming.

Joshua 14:11 ESV

How do we have unfailing strength? It can only come from the Lord. I came to a point of great stress and had to ask the Lord to teach me to work in His strength. I couldn’t comprehend how to do that. He answered and allowed me to be made weak for a time, in His perfect goodness, so I had to let Him do the work. I now live a slow, unbusy life, and yet people say they can’t understand how I “do” it all. I feel like I do nothing, but the Lord accomplishes much! I can’t explain it other than relying on Him instead of yourself.

Little by little, the Lord has been teaching us to rely on Him. I told you about walking away from income. That included leaving raising support. I told you about seeking Him first for repairs and other troubles. He teaches us to rely on Him in other ways, for our fellowship, for our teaching, for our health, for safety.

It’s all the Lord’s doing. If you are trying to work and trying to have faith, pray and ask the Lord to teach you to walk in God’s unfailing strength.
