So the men took some of their provisions, but did not ask counsel from the Lord.

We need to get our counsel from the Lord. We need to solve problems in relationship with God.

Burn, shred, dispose of any way you can any Christian how-to book you have. Don’t turn to friends, blogs, “the experts” for advice. You have an infinitely wise and caring God to guide you. I don’t care how trivial or big the problem, go to Him! Acknowledge Him. Seek Him first.

This one failure of leadership to seek the Lord’s counsel before making a decision sets up all future generations for failure.
