Here’s how to set those up.

New Kinder Courses Are Up
Kindergarten is now Kinder Writing, Kinder Math, and Learn to Read (Sight Reading and Phonics).
You can continue to use the Kindergarten and McGuffey Primer courses until the 4th of July. However, all that content is still on the site. Learn below how to switch to the new courses if you’d like. If you are in Kindergarten Lesson 165 – 180, please just keep using the current course.
McGuffey Primer Students
- Your reading lessons are now in Sight Reading – Learn to Read with the same lesson number.
- Add the Reading course block. Click on Previous Course under Phonics – Learn to Read.
- When it says Sight Reading – Learn to Read, then type in your current lesson number into the little box next to where it says, “Change the Lesson Number for the Course.”
- The math is trickier. The math from McGuffey is basically found in Preschool Lessons 172 – 180 in Preschool and then you can move onto Kinder Math. They aren’t copied from the previous course in exact order.
- If you are at the beginning of McGuffey (Lessons 1 – 11), then change your course to Preschool by clicking on Previous Course under McGuffey Primer. Enter Lesson 172 in the Change Lesson Number for Course box.
- Otherwise, please add the Math course block and click on Previous Course to change it to Kinder Math. You can start at the beginning.
Kindergarten Students
- Kindergarten is being split into different courses: reading, writing, math.
- If you are in Lessons 165 – 180, just keep going with the current Kindergarten course that you’ve been using.
- The courses will remain until the 4th of July. If you know you will finish by then, you can keep using the current course.
- If you’d like to switch to the new courses, follow the directions below. See the image above to see where you click Previous Course and type in your lesson number.
Reading

- Add the Reading block. You do that by clicking on Reading at the bottom of the Settings page.
- If you are in Kindergarten Lessons 1 – 59, follow these directions to set up the sight reading course.
- Make sure the course title is Sight Reading – Learn to Read. If it says Phonics, click on Previous Course under Phonics – Learn to Read to change it to Sight Reading – Learn to Read.
- Then please add 52 to your current kindergarten lesson number. Lesson 1 in Kindergarten is Lesson 53 in Sight Reading – Learn to Read.
- Type your new lesson number into the little box next to Change Current Lesson Number.
- Click anywhere to save.
- If you are in Lessons 60 – 164, please follow these directions.
- Make sure your course title says Phonics – Learn to Read. If not, click on Next Course under Sight Reading – Learn to Read to change it to Phonics – Learn to Read.
- Subtract 59 from your lesson number. If your current lesson number in kindergarten is 60, then your new course lesson number is 1 in Phonics – Learn to Read.
- Type your new lesson number into the little box next to Change Current Lesson Number.
- Click anywhere to save.
Writing

- Add the Language Arts Block by clicking on Language Arts from the bottom of the Settings page.
- Click on Previous Course to make it say Kinder Writing.
- Type your current lesson number into the little box next to Change Current Lesson Number for Course.
Math

- Add the Math block by clicking on Math from the bottom of the Settings page.
- Click on Previous Course to make it say Kinder Math.
- Type your current lesson number into the little box next to Change Current Lesson Number for Course.
Notes
- Use Move Up and Move Down to change the order of the courses to how you like them.
- In our next My EP update, we’ll be adding the ability to include Extra and Add-On courses into the order on the Settings page. That way you’ll be able to organize Sight Reading and Phonics into your day. You can add one or the other by adding Extra-Reading from the Extras page.
