Why, O Lord, do you stand far away? Why do you hide yourself in times of trouble?

If you ever find yourself asking God why, let me tell you the answer. Because He is good and He loves you. He is allowing whatever it is in His goodness and out of His love for you. He’s working things out for your good and His glory.

Even when He hid His face from the Israelites because of their sin, or because they were calling out to other gods, God still did it out of love for them. He couldn’t save them when they were crying out to other gods, seeking help elsewhere. That would encourage them in their going after other gods! They needed discipline when they sinned, so they would come to the sadness that leads to repentance.

God is always good. God is always loving. God is always faithful. He will not forsake His children. If God is not answering or delaying in answering, turn your heart to Him. Know His love is in action on your behalf.
