There are different fields of study under the heading of astronomy, the study of the universe.

Cosmology is the study of the universe as a whole. That includes the study of galaxies and black holes.

Planetology is the study of planets, of course.

Others study the universe without looking into space. They study it using math, crunching numbers, as they say, to get a better understanding of how the universe works.
