Ads

I just learned that my blogs sometimes have ads on them. I never knew because I’ve never seen them. They only show up if you aren’t logged in as a WordPress user. I didn’t put those ads there. I didn’t make money from them. They were put there by WordPress because I don’t pay for my blogs. They are all free.

It really bothered me to find out, and I don’t want any distractions, like ads, for your kids during school, so I just went ahead and paid to have them removed for the year. I have gotten $35 in donations and it cost $30 to remove the ads, so I did it. If I’m able to, I will keep them off in the future as well.

Why don’t you just get your own domain and hosting? Hostgator and Bluehost are cheap reliable hosting options. allinonehomeschool.com is available. Registration is about $10 a year and hosting is less than $5 a month! You already know wordpress, so you could migrate this website over to your own domain. Easy peasy!

You could even start your own forum. 😀

That’s still more expensive, but I’ve looked into switching to different places even before you wrote this. My BIGGEST hindrance is that none of my links would work to other pages on my site. All 300 some of the year 1 year 4 links would have to be changed. All 600 some Math links would have to be changed. All the 1000 thinking links would have to be changed. The hundreds of math review game links would have to be changed, not to mention the link here and there I’d just have to find. I’m not ready for such a commitment!

I have thought about starting a forum though or a facebook page so you could all communicate.
