I got an email alerting me that “In another Facebook group there are a few women in there who keep bashing EP because the resources are supposedly aligning with Common Core.” Â I’ve also been told that my name is being used in anti-Common Core groups saying that I am “spreading poison.” I have read lies that people have been spreading about what I include in the curriculum.
I’m against the Common Core in general. This curriculum is not aligned with CC. Those speaking against me are saying this because there are resources on EP that are aligned to the Common Core curriculum, specifically sites such as Khan Academy and Georgia Virtual Learning. Every academic site meets some of the CC standards. If you teach your child to read, you are meeting a standard. If you teach your child to add, you are meeting a standard. If you allow your child to listen to an alphabet song on Starfall.com, he or she is playing with “aligned” curriculum. I use Khan Academy in one of my math courses. That course is the same course it was from before Khan Academy aligned their curriculum with the CC. When Khan changed something, I just added in a different resource.
Just please know that I am against these standards in terms of the government trying to dictate what our children learn and trying to mold our children’s worldview. I want to mold my children myself to have a biblical worldview. I do link to a billion sites, as you know. I know that some of them are aligned to those standards, but I linked to specific pages for specific purposes. Two plus two still equals four even if it’s on a school website aligned to the CC.
My own children use Easy Peasy and I want them learning TRUTH. I have been working on the high school site. I am very aware of all this as I decide on content. I do use sites that are aligned to the CC. In one course I show the students propaganda in course materials. In another course students are shown two opposing historical viewpoints. This is not spreading poison. It’s teaching truth. It’s helping our kids be innocent as doves but shrewd as snakes.
So hopefully I’m clear. If you hear “bashing” of EP, please don’t allow them to scare you. Think and choose for yourself. If you decide that you won’t use any website that is aligned with CC, then EP is not for you. If you do use EP and ever come across specific content that I use that you think is questionable, please contact me and it will be looked into right away. We have thousands of eyes and ears that can work together to protect our children.
I understand that there is much discussion, and strong feelings in the homeschool community about the common core, but It is a shame that people are bashing some of the links on your site, when you are providing all of this free of charge! Again, I am so grateful for all of the resources you are providing. My kids are enjoying their daily lessons.

If I feel the one of the days in the curriculum is not exactly getting the point across to my child I will just simply Google or look up something to try to help support what that day is teaching!
This is your childrens school and you have been very gracious and letting the public into your world to see what you were doing to try to help out other homeschool families!
Parents can either add or take away from this crazy feeling to best suit their families! I believe you were doing a wonderful and rewarding program to other homeschool families because the Lord has put it on your heart to do this.
There’s always going to be haters out there and the devil is always going to try to get you down keep your head up and know that what you’re doing you’re doing because God commanded it.

hello!!! I am very new to homeschooling and happened to run across this curriculum that the spirit led me to. My children are going to public school, and I am frustrated with lies that they have been taught and needed a good and inexpensive way to homeschool them. All I can say is THANK YOU. You are a true blessing from God.
My story as well! I have known I should be homeschooling but did not think I could do it, so one day I started checking into my state laws and requirements and doing some research. Finally I told God if he wanted me to do this, to provide me with the way. I searched homeschool curriculum. The first 2 clicks were sites wanting to sell me a curriculum for over $600, for each child! There is no way I could do it! The 3rd click sent he here. I immediately recognized the way He gave me. This sight is such a blessing!! Thank you!

I want to thank you for what you have given to all the homeschoolers. One thing that I learned about CC is that they are taking cursive out of all together. If a child can’t read cursive then no more Bill of Rights or Constitution of the United States, these are documents that are so very important to our history. Thank you for taking a stand!

Hi, First, THANK YOU for all you have done to put together this wonderful program! Please do not feel you ever have to apologize or feel defensive about what you have put together for your children and so graciously allowed us to borrow. Common Core has its good points and bad. As a licensed teacher and homeschool mom I have been on both sides. We will find good curriculum to use in a lot of places and as you have said it will cross over with what the rest of the country is doing with CC. Please don’t feel bad about that. I agree with Ashley – if I see something that doesn’t fit with our day or our values (which is not that often) I simply find something that does or I skip it altogether. You will never please everyone. Your website has encouraged us and inspired my daughter to want to learn more on her own. I believe this is not only a Homeschool website but a ministry as well. I have told many of my friends about it and I will keep doing so. I was only recently made aware of the Common Core and although it infuriates me, it doesn’t surprise me. So from my home to yours, we say “keep up the good work” and don’t get discouraged. God bless you and your family.

Latasha, I too am a single mom, homeschooling my 13 yr old son. I really was about at the point of giving up and enrolling him in public school, when I learned of EP. I am grateful to God for leading me to Lee Giles and her free curriculum. It has been a blessing to find her and now, with her help, I feel I can continue! Ladies, could you share how you are doing homeschooling while working? I am NOT a single mom, but do need to work to help pay bills. I am feeling like I need to homeschool my 14 year old son. My husband will help, but there will be days he is left on his own for a few hours to do his own work.

All I can say is that this is a blessing to a lott of people, when your doing what the Lord wants you to do your going to get opposition. Im a veteran homeschooler for almost 28 yrs, and when I started out there wasn’t any help for curriculum like you have and Danika Cooley has a wonderful Bible curriculum. So don’t worry about what they are saying girl, there are more of us for you than against you. What God calls us to do sometimes will make others who don’t consider this a blessing to be mockers. Keep doing what your doing and God’s blessings are more profitable in the long run. I have helped many , many homeschool Mom ‘s that are either single, or no jobs or whatever situations to your site and they thanked me because it was such a blessing to them.
I am on several FB lists for homeschool, one in peticular called Homeschool Freebies which list free things for homeschooling because the Mom’s like myself cannot afford to buy curriculum. This is a blessing to so many others you just don’t know and as far as Im concerned they need to keep their opinions to themselves. what are they doing to help others in need? I cannot fathom how people in charge of their own children’s education cannot make a simple choice to use or not use which resources they see fit, without resorting to an attack on someone who has poured time, energy and heart into creating something anyone anywhere can use for free. Personally, I don’t think we use any one resource to the letter. There is value in just about anything as a resource in the correct, time, place and manner for the correct child. Take the good bits, leave the bad.

we use this site and LOVE it . our children really enjoy your lessons and the flexability. I want to thank you so much for all the work you have done. you are a huge blessing to our family. we do supplement , not because this is not enough or because we do not like all you have done but because we enjoyed the history we used before we found this site. as for the science my children really enjoy that as well as the English. math we use something different because we need hands on . this being said you have a very well rounded curriculum that you are blessing so many families with. please do not allow others to get you down . God has given you a amazing talent . and you are being kind enough to offer it free to others. if others do not like what you have done then they can just go buy another one that they do like. no harm done to anyone . no need to be unkind and hurtful. I want to also tell you , I bought your book the King will make a way. thank you so much for that as well. it is a wonderful book and the funny thing is , within a few weeks of me buyng your book our pastor did a message on exactly what your book was about . to me it was confirmation. thank you thank you . keep up the good work. pray for the ones that are not nice and rejoice in the ones that you have blessed.

It’s in there. Go to the English page and start reading assignments. They all have spelling, vocabulary and grammar.

I don’t know your child. Why not look at the course descriptions and reading lists for English 5, 6 and 7 and see what you think. Those levels would all have the same science, history, etc. They would also use the same math page. You’ll have to decide where on that page your child belongs.
My grandson is 13 and I think we are probably going to be starting him at level 4 in the fall because of his special needs. It’s not about age, it’s about where they are academically.
The enemy just loves trying to mess up God’s work. I am thankful for this site and I want to thank you for this site. We are praying for your family as you continue to lead us.
I personally love your site and use it a lot for my kids. If not for this site, and the pages on facebook, I don’t know that my kids would get as fabulous of an education as they are. Keep up the good work.

We are going to be using this starting in the fall. I haven’t EVER seen my grandson so excited about schooling as he was when I showed him this site. We used to use xtra math but he got frustrated with being timed so we quit. When he saw it was part of the math section for his level he was even eager to start using that again! He is ASD/Dyslexic so anything he gets excited about is a blessing in my eyes. You can’t make everyone happy, even for free lol.
One of the beauties of homeschooling is that we are free to use whatever materials we choose and disregard those we find un-useful or offensive. I absolutely love the idea of using CC to show kids the propaganda their PS friends are being force fed. They need to be educated in these areas as well so they are well informed about what is really going on in the world today. Satan works in many ways to discourage and prevent those who are doing God’s work. Please don’t let these few discourage you! There are many more of us who feel blessed by the wonderful work you are doing and the enormous amount of time you have devoted to this.
Yikes! What a petty thing to do! I am just learning about the CC as well, and felt like a fool after I’d made a glowing comment about one of their workbooks! I have hence removed said comment, but just the same I felt dupped. You are providing a wonderful service, and aligning with standards that really should be common sense learning for all shouldn’t be something that gets anyone bashed! I just hope that we can continue to avoid CC…I’m afraid it will become “do it or else!” for everyone. God bless you and yours and this once great Nation! Khan Academy was created before Common Core existed. Volunteers went back after the videos had been made and “mapped” the concepts for people who needed to align lessons to CC.
I know. I personally don’t understand why there are people who won’t use it, but there ARE people who won’t use it because it’s “aligned.”

I am one of “those people”. I thought you’d like some insight as to why I would choose not to use CCSS-aligned material. First of all, it’s clear that the CCSS are MUCH MORE than just a set of standards. Even you admit that there are “philosophical adjustments in the common core, that redirect thinking” in the CCSS materials. (Socialism, Gay Rights, Global Warming, etc. come to my mind.) The goal of CCSS is to BRING SOCIALISM TO THIS COUNTRY. Their tactics are no different than those that were used in Russia and Germany to gain control of the children’s minds.
For me, choosing to use any curricula that has put its “stamp of approval” on the CCSS by either changing their material or by showing how their material is up to snuff when it comes to the CCSS would be no different than choosing to still patronize a shop in Germany that had decided to follow the new rules of the Nazi party to not allow Jews in their shop.
I mean, think about it. You have a shop that before the Nazis took control sold meat. It was good meat and a lot of people shopped there. Then the Nazis came in and said that if the shop sold meat to Jews, it would be closed. So, the deal was to change your shop rules to show how you are meeting the new standards or risk losing customers or even worse closing. Some shops gladly said no more Jews because they agree with the Nazis. Some did it because they wanted to stay in business. Some refused and paid the price.
What would you do if your favorite shop stopped selling to Jews because those were the rules? Would you still shop there? After all, the meat is the same? They haven’t changed that, right? But, could you, really, shop at a place that had agreed to go along with a government that was exactly control over the population?
That’s pretty much what’s happening with the CCSS. Curricula providers are facing the same choice. Of course, some of them think the new rules are great. Others are jumping on the bandwagon because they want to stay competitive. Thankfully, many homeschool curricula providers are choosing to avoid anything having to do with the CCSS out of principle and are willing to pay the price that comes with it.
If we “go along to get along” with the government and the CCSS, I believe that we are simply ceding yet another of our freedoms. Furthermore, by using those curricula, we are putting our own “stamp of approval” on the use of the CCSS.
I will not do it. In the words of Patrick Henry, “Give me Liberty or give me death!”
I do hope this helps you to better understand why some people want nothing to do with the CCSS or any materials that are connected with it.

I understood. I didn’t need the explanation. I am thinking more of my own children than a crusade. Our school couldn’t exist without those websites. I am careful in the content I present my children. The rest I give to the Lord to take care of.
The Common Core is simply a scope and sequence of what kids need to know and be able to do at various grade levels in the core subjects. I am not really sure what there is about, say, kindergarten kids being able to count to 100, read and write numbers, or do simple addition or subtraction that anyone should be “opposed to”. It is not mandatory. Each state decides if it wants to incorporate that scope and sequence into its public schools or not but 47 have chosen to upgrade their schools by using it. They then decide how they want to use it and it is elected officials in each state- each state’s house of representatives, state senators, and governor- who decide to adopt it or not. Pretty much ALL homeschool curriculum meets or exceeds the Common Core scope and sequence whether they purposely plan to align or not. The Advanced Placement tests, SAT, ACT and college admissions are all going to require that a student have completed a program that aligns. It’s just an ordinary scope and sequence for public schools and if you plan to teach your kids to count, add, subtract, multiply, divide, use fractions, or study algebra than YOU are aligned to the standards. Ditto for if you teach the alphabet, letter sounds, reading, grammar, and how to spell. Go have a look at the standards before becoming hysterical as if this is some sort of demon to avoid. http://www.corestandards.org/the-standards Let’s be glad that public school kids will be upgrading to this.
I agree that people have gone overboard. Every curriculum is aligned to the CC if they teach how to read or add. That’s why I still use sites that are “aligned.” They teach basics that everyone needs to know. As you mentioned, that the SATs will be made to cover what is in the CC. I don’t like that they are trying to force what is covered in our homeschool by such a move. I want to control the content of our education. Also, there are philosophical adjustments in the common core, that redirect thinking. Those, I believe, need to be avoided, or pointed out and addressed, so that our kids can learn to think for themselves and think biblically.

Being as though my little one is entering Kindergarten, and this will be my first year homeschooling (therefore a little overwhelming), I haven’t even looked at the standards past first grade. 🙂

This is my 3rd year to hs. My children are 10, 7, and 2. I’m still learning:) I just found EP, and I’m so thankful! I actually just signed my oldest onto the Khan Academy yesterday, I had just heard about it. And am just now reading about the common core. I want to read more about it. Where can I find more info? I want to be well informed. What are the recent news stories and where can I read about it? Thanks!

Except that Khan Academy just received around $2,000,000 in May to go ALL Common Core. Wondering if they will use that money to actually remake old videos or just align the new ones?
Àlso, people don’t realize that the methods to teach math will be different. Methods that have not been researched. They will seem great in the elementary grades and then when the reach middle school, there will be a lot of difficulty transferring to and learning higher level math.
You have to realize that in using these materials we are still controlling the content our children receive. In my curriculum they still learn math the “old way.” After mastery they learn some alternate methods for mental math, breaking down problems, etc. Moms have been helping me by doing reading and watching videos so that we can be sure of all the content we are getting.
Yes, I totally agree and I don’t want you to misunderstand my comment. I am not trying to bash your site. I was just trying to explain that common core is more than most people realize. I really like what you have done and am very grateful you offer all your hard work free to everyone. I myself really like the idea of Khan Academy and have really been going back and forth about whether try it or not. I am just fearful of the changes that could be made to it and can’t always be standing over my children’s shoulders for each and every lesson they are doing on the computer if I am working with another child at that time.
Glad to hear others are watching the videos and checking it out. Good to know. If I’m understanding Khan correctly, it follows your child’s weaknesses and moves them along the knowledge map based on their missed problems. Are the moms that are helping you just going straight through all the lesson to see if they differ from traditional methods? That would be so wonderful to know that they are safe! Are they doing this for the other middle school program as well? That would be awesome!
I wasn’t talking specifically about Khan Academy. I have to say I don’t really worry much about the math. I created the lower level math directly, not going off of any one site. Khan Academy is used for practice problems, as a review basically. We’ll have to see if it changes, but like I said, there are lots of eyes and ears watching over the curriculum. As I am creating high school moms are helping me watch the videos and do all the reading, so we can skip or point out things. I may use CC courses, but I think there is transformation when you skip some things and add in how readings relate to Scripture. Can you point me to a list of specific things to look for? We can educate the families on what to be on the lookout for. I think that can be a great tool to train our kids to think critically about things.
I just ran across this website and WOW!!! I am so amazed at what I have seen here. This curriculum will go into effect immediately in my household. I am a homeschooling mother of 7 (one set of twins) AND I operate a thriving childcare service in my home AND I serve as a professional trainer for childcare providers. So I am busy to say the least. Just reading about Easy Peasy and reviewing the lessons has taken ALOT of pressure off of me. I CAN’T WAIT TO GET STARTED. YOU ARE SUCH A BLESSING!!

The worst this about a good lie is it has some truth in it . You have to be able to “eat the meat and spit out the bones” these are good life lessons also,to teach what you believe and why. Just my humble opinion. Thank you again foryour dedication and generosity.

You are a huge blessing to us! “Thank you Lord for her wonderful organizational skills, and love for others to share her gift!” I am very glad to hear you are not aligning with common core! I have been researching and learning more about it. My biggest concern is that ACT, SAT & GED tests are all being aligned with common core, I just pray our kids with the truth on their side are able to pass all these & still come out on top. We are fighting it here, asking our state to rescind. (I have also heard too what you stated in another reply about the UN becoming world leader that we all are to obey)
It’s not just this curriculum. It’s already what’s out there in the culture. It’s coming from all sides. I think the best thing is to show it to our kids and help them see the manipulation and how it takes place. For instance, I pointed out to my older two children how the movie The Croods had a basic idea that your parents don’t know what’s good for you, that they are keeping you from all this great stuff that’s out there in the world. I didn’t even see the movie, but I could see the premise. My kids can see how that’s manipulative and dangerous for a young child. We need to teach them to think and to compare all supposed “truth” to the One real Truth. 🙂
People need to chill. I just found your site and am so excited to use this. Isn’t one of the joys of homeschooling that you can modify curriculum to meet your family’s needs and values? Thank you for providing this free of charge. We don’t have a lot of money to spend on this and I don’t want to have to reinvent the wheel. I just found this site and am SOOOOOO relieved!! I live in Japan and don’t have easy access to curriculum or support for homeschooling, etc. My husband and I both want our kids to learn English fluently and on a time line similar to American kids their age. My oldest is about to turn 8 and we have yet to start anything formal. So I am hoping to get him ‘caught up’ and to start teaching him other subjects in English as well. The fact that everything can be found online and for free gives me hope that we can start and continue!! Thank you SO VERY MUCH for sharing all of your hard work!!! I cannot even begin to tell you how much it is appreciated!

We are in such a financial bind right now, with 7 kids at home, and my husband the only one working. We have been homeschooling for 7 years but I really thought that we were going to have to stop because I couldn’t afford to get a curriculum for the children and was lacking in piecing things together myself, then I found this website and we are starting this morning in a few minutes actually. I am excited about this and so thankful for it!! A trip to Dollar Tree this weekend should be enough to get all that we need for several months!!! Thank you and thank God for you!!!

I have been struggling with the decision to home school my 2 children for about a year now. I have felt in my heart that’s what I need to do but I was so afraid of getting them behind. You will never be able to please everyone. This is going to be my first year homeschooling my two children, kindergarten and 5th grade. I quit my paying job for this to become my heavenly payment :). I have been doing much research to try and find what I hope will be the best for my children. I stumbled on your site a couple days ago. The fact that you have put I’m sure TONS of hours getting this up and running is more than anyone else I know would do. Don’t let others “bash you”. At the end of the day the only one that matters is God and what He thinks of you. I’m amazed at what your doing here, please keep up the great work.
I am so glad that the curriculum in not Common Core. I thank you so much for having this far from it. I have passed this homeschooling site onto my friends who are homeschooling because curriculum is so expensive. Thank God and ppl like you who are willing to help those of us who really can’t afford to go buy and or spend huge amounts of money on curriculum for our kids so they can have a great education that incorporates our Lord.

I want to Thank the group that gave me this link. Until my daughter got to do this she couldnt do math well. I thought my babygirl was going to college. Then I found out her math was really low. The school was just pasting her as of her age. Nothing upset a parent then learning my daughter didnt know the simple math. Thanks to this program my daughter will be able the remember

I especially appreciate your assertion that if a parent teaches a child to read or allows them to play games on online learning sites, they are ‘aligning’ in some way. My opposition to Common Core is strictly from the over-stepping of authority that our government has mistakenly acquired, especially in regards to propaganda and data mining. I have been extremely concerned as I have weighed the decision to pull my 3rd grader and “after-school” my 6th and 8th graders, I was having difficulty finding affordable curriculum that I felt was not infringing on my personal beliefs. I don’t want to say too much, just that Common Core is not this evil plot to convert kids to some narrow socialist way of thinking. The main changes are those that are to get kids to think rather than regurgitate facts. The math that isn’t done in traditional ways, was already being used in some curriculum and standards, mainly to try to allow students to see how the same problems can be approached in different ways. Believe me, I have been dealing with these oddities in my kids school math for a few years. Some students do not learn well using traditional methods. It doesn’t always mean their methods are wrong, sometimes it just means they find another way to approach it. It does sometimes go too far to expect every child to learn every approach no matter how off the wall or seemingly long and confusing, but it is good to allow a variety of approaches if it is available. Not only does that help accommodate learners that think differently, but it can also help make some future concepts that can be confusing, a little easier to grasp when the time comes. As for the lack of cursive, these standards are suppose to be a minimum that you can always go above and beyond, and unfortunately handwriting and cursive had already been taken out of many states’ minimum standards. As homeschoolers there is nothing that says any of us have to follow common core at all, but I have no problem with a variety of approaches being used.I also have no problem with teaching my kids to think in a variety of ways.
What you have done here with this website is wonderful, and nothing short of amazing. This is a great site, with a ton of good pre prepared, flexible lessons, for every age group, and you provide it free of charge. This has to take a massive amount of work, research, and organization. I try to do similar with my instruction, and it is a massive undertaking just getting it out to my kids. I cannot imagine trying to post it all properly, and organizing it well for everyone else. Thank you so much for everything you have done and continue to do. Don’t worry too much about these standards, they are changing these things around everytime anyone starts to get use to them. Politicians put their two cents in and always think they have the next great answer, then the schools face the whirlwind every couple years, of trying to meet the next ridiculous requirements that someone decided will pull our students up. Yet the requirements never seem to work, scores don’t go up enough,and the same bunch of yahoos put in their two cents, to try to fix the broken system that they broke in the first place. Just in the time I was in school to become a teacher our state changed standards at least 4 times, all under “No Child Left Behind.” Common Core is just the next big thing that we should all be glad we do not have to jump through hoops to follow. While the teachers in public and charter schools will have to continue jumping. If you ask me, it is half the problem with schools. Teachers are spending so much time and energy jumping through hoops they have nothing left for actually educating the kids that aren’t jumping high enough.
If I do ever manage to get a full time teaching job this curriculum will be wonderful, because you have already done the work I would need to do to get my children the education they deserve. That would be a huge savings of time and energy for me, while still being confident they are getting a full education. Sorry I went on so long, I tend to do that.
I honestly think common core is to over powering and requires too much of a student.

We just read an early reading book today about bread. People in Spain, Europe, Armerica, Peru, etc, etc eat bread.

The world is a BIG place to inquiring minds.
That’s probably an obvious statement, the point being, that most public schools teach only the tip of the iceburg, or only one side of a much greater story/fact/concept/idea.
Look at some of the public TV programs 10 years ago, and the ones now.
These are almost not found today, Reading Rainbow, Mr. Wizard (science), Ghost Writer, Liberty’s Kids, Between the Loins, Children’s Circle, Where in the World is Carmen Sandiago, Zaboomafoo (taught about animal habitats), Book of Virtues, (morality lessons), Jakers (farm animal friends dealing with childhood issues), The Magic Schoolbus, etc.

I have just begun using this site having only found it on Friday. I’m getting familiar with the area. I don’t understand why parents can pick from your curriculum and use what they feel is good for their children and leave the rest alone if they are against it. It’s like any other website out there with information–use what you can and leave the rest. Why BASH someone doing something SO AWESOME for FREE for parents like me? I have autism, my two boys have autism and we do not fit in with public school or even those virtual academies (I lose the benefit of “on their own pace as they set the deadlines for assignments). So, putting together my own curriculum is dependent on kind hearted folks like those that put this site together and work to maintain it. I am on disability income–no way I could afford books in a box type of stuff either although I *did* do it out of desperation one year for my eldest. I just don’t get people sometimes.
I’m so thankful for all the hard work you’ve done. Keep doing what you’re doing. I love it and both of my children love it. I use this along with the Sonlight cir… and I couldn’t be more peaceful and happy about the education my babies are getting.

I have a kinder and 2nd grader in public school. I went to the same school and have known almost every teacher my whole life but am not happy with how my kids are learning. The teachers are just going along with what they’re told to do and I’m very frustrated. If I knew my kids wouldn’t be very upset I’d take them out Monday. It has been such a blessing to find EP-Allinonehomeschool site. I have been winging it for many years with my triplet daughters. I have been using curriculum from school books and various internet sites online. Having all the information on one site has really eased the pressure for me and has made the girls home school days much more organized. I just found your site and I’m oh so glad I did! I pulled my kids from the charter school they were in (after pulling them from the public school because the principal refused to listen to me (after telling me that I was a teen mom and teen moms just liked to stir up trouble). I’m young but I would do anything for my kids! I pulled them in Feb after many illnesses and the school getting quite angry because of it. I decided I could do lots of reading, art and science projects, and printouts for the rest of the year while I took this time to prepare their curriculum for next year. Money is tight so I knew I’d have to do something free or almost free (and really why pay for something if you can find it with a little ingenuity and determination somewhere else). I just didn’t realize how hard it is to figure out the ORDER you put the curriculum in. After hundreds of pins on pinterest, google AND bing searches, and facebook groups I stumbled across your site. I’m so so very glad I did! It makes it so easy to add (or take away) anything we need to, although I haven’t really found anything yet except that fact that we’re LDS so on top of the Bible I plan to teach the Book of Mormon along side it. I have a kindergartner, 1st grader, and 4th grader. My middle child have some developmental delays along with ADHD and they were pretty much just shoving him aside. All of our schools in my city (and State) have started CCSS this year. I used to LOVE our little charter school and I still do adore the teachers, but they went from having about 18-25 students in a class room with 2 teachers/class. They were joint classes (as in 1st AND 2nd or 2nd AND 3rd.), you went into the one you fit best in. If you were a little behind and were in 2nd grade you’d go to the 1st/2nd combo. It was a great system. When they started school in August I was flabbergasted at the amount of changes just from last year. The worst being that they are teaching towards the middle. The kids behind just had to try to catch up or facing being held back and the kids ahead just had to deal (and having a 4th grader reading at a high school level and doing math at a 6th grade level made it incredibly frustrating to see how bored he was and how he was acting out. He would’ve eventually learned to truly hate school and THAT is my worst nightmare!) They also have about 40 kids/class!!! How can you even learn with that many kids? They were suffering because of it. I may be young but I am in no way a person who just follows the crowd. I know what our values are and I know what my kids are capable of and what they need to push them as far as they could go. The final straw came when they got in trouble for praying before lunch. In Arizona it just can’t be teacher/school led. They legally can’t tell my child that he can’t pray under his breath (so noone else could hear him) and that it is “wrong” for him to be praying. I’m very lucky though that Arizona has extremely lax homeschool laws. I only had to send in a notorized letter of intent to homeschool to the county superintendant. What I teach them and how I teach them is left up to me. I’m so grateful and have already seen a marked difference in my 7 year old in his behavior and in his reading. He just needed some one on one time. I’m so excited for August to start year 1 of your program. Thank you so much for all the hard work you have put in to make this site and thank you for making it free! I am still so new and am learning so much already. THANK YOU!!!!!

I know you are a super busy mom so I won’t write a long novel. I just needed to tell you that God has answered my prayers through His work in you. Ive been a Christ followers for 6.5 years. My mind took a sudden shift from post modern view to biblical view. There were many changes that took place. I quit my job to be home with kids after working as Surg. Assist. for several years. God placed home schooling on my heart and my daughter was excited Home schooling is something that I absolutely thought I would never do.
We began to home school the beginning of 4th grade. She is now at the end of 5th grade.The last 6 months I was feeling so unqualified to teach her. I really started to doubt. My daughter was praying that God would send her back to Public School. I felt like that was the worst thing I could do. I researched Christian schools “way to expensive” I just felt stuck.. She missed her friends, She felt like she has to do so much more work then other kids, and that she never had time to play when the other kids got out of school. So I agreed that she could return to PS for the 6th grade, She was so determined to go, even though I didn’t feel right I agreed. I just kept praying and thought maybe she needed to go back so she could remember how much she hated it and would want to be home schooled again…
Then an amazing thing happened. I came across your website and it changed everything. I have to say I am very excited and I feel confident because all I have to do is… click the bottom…My daughter has viewed the site and is also very excited to continue home schooling.
I spent months worrying that I was going to make the wrong decision for my daughter and all along God had it covered. If I would just listen when He says do not worry. Its just like our God to be that Awesome. So

Since this is a curriculum not a school you are your children’s teacher and administrator. So you can give your childreb their diploma’s and you will do your children’s transcripts.

NH I believe requires testing by a teacher every year. I think NH has many stipulation to home schooling. I have tried to read them but there is much information to follow. I can home school but I have to hire some one ( teacher) to come in and test my child. I still feel like she will not learn info at her pace and learning style. I’m new to homeschooling and am very impressed with what I have seen and read so far. We are entering homeschooling at the 8th and 12th grade levels due to the negative social influences on my kids. Our state of IL is just adopting CC. I don’t like CC simply because of the way it functions and the because it puts students at a disadvantage. I’ve attended many parent meetings based on CC, and it is my understanding that CC is designed to get our students’ learning up to par with the rest of the world, as the USA is behind. That is a positive, but the negatives are that the school systems don’t know how to fill in the gaps to get the average student up to the CC level. I actually learned that it may take several years for students to actually be able to learn at their CC grade level and that most students are currently behind. This was alarming to me since I have one student who has always struggled to make their grades and has needed assistance while the other excels. We found that with the implementation of CC, teachers are doing less and expecting student to help and teach one another without much teacher interaction at all. The irony in this is that if the school distinct admits that all of the children are behind, then how can they possibly lead each other ahead? I came to find that one of our children was completely dependent on their peers for help and was denied by the tac hers except to come in after school, while the other who excelled felt flustered with being responsible to lead a group of other students in their learning. In addition, at one grade level, they were required to turn in assignments while at the higher level they were given assignments and expected to complete them, but weren’t held to completing them because they weren’t being graded are taken except for random, select assignments to be reviewed, as a determination as to the student’s progress. The children’s actual grades are based upon testing, and if their testing was poor, they were re-taught a lesson after school and then retested again. While to CC this seems like a good standard, it is not.
With all of this being said, it is not the curriculum that is lacking with CC. It is actually ahead of the game. The problem is with class sizes and the method of teaching CC.
Please be kind to one another, as The Lord calls us to love all, even our enemies. We should support one another and rebuke gracefully, not harshly. May everyone have a fantastic and blessed school year, no matter your method. May God be at the forefront and center of all of it, and may we humble ourselves in order to hear His voice and direction.

Thank you EP. This is my second year homeschooling. Last year when I was looking for info about what materials to use, I came across your website. WHAT A HUGE BLESSING!!!!! I have “5” kids, two in second grade and two in preschoo, one is a newbornl. So, this site is wonderful! Very easy to follow! My children love the site. My husband and I decided we should homeschool because we want control over what our kids are taught. We want them taught Godly and biblical principles, and not CC. I do know a few sites are common core based, so we check them out before our kids view it. Also, financially, this a GREAT BLESSING! I had looked into other homeschool sites before this one. We do not have $600-$800 to dish out for materials. To sum it up, our family loves EP! Thank you for all the hard work to upkeep and develop this site.

Your site is the one that gave the courage and confidence to finally pull my son and homeschool him. I have found that you are correct most sites have some kind of cc standard in them. I use a very far from cc mathbook that was actually free because cc had my son frustrated and hating math. Love this site I will be ordering books from you for next year to give him a mix of print and online materials. Thank you so much!!!!

This is a free curriculum, not a school so you do not need to sign up. Kids with Autism can most definitely be taught at home, with this curriculum you can go as fast or slow as your child needs to succeed. Just found Easy Peasy and am so excited!! I homeschooled my now grown children 10 years ago in highschool, spent a fortune for enrollment in homeschool programs. I have just decided to start homeschooling my three young children, ages 3 1/2, 6 and 9. Hi , My name is Carol Moore and right off the top this homeschooling that you have put together is amazing and blessed straight from God. My family have just moved to Tennessee from North Carolina and I wanted to take a leap of faith in homeschooling. Needless to say it was quite overwhelming. I have some christian friends back home, who helped me with a lot of learning about homeschooling. One of them had mentioned Easy Peasy, but I did not give it much thought. My children wanted to be home schooled and I saw a lot of what was being taught in public school and I did substitute teaching myself. I wanted one thing for them to learn more about the bible and of course that is not heard of in public school. I believe that the lord led me to this website and to find out that it is free is nothing but a blessing. May God continue to bless you and your family in everything that you do. Also my children got a late start with the homeschooling, because of transition and finding a place to live. Can they do more than one days work to catch up for the school year?
You certainly can, but you also don’t have to fit your school year into the public school definition. You don’t have to feel behind.
Hi! I just wanted to say that I am very impressed with this site. I am using it with my 3 children, and they truly enjoy this. I also appreciate how upfront you are with your beliefs and how everything is lined up with some sort of common core. There has always been a common core, but people are just now realizing how the government is trying to poison our children. We want God fearing children not robots! I am a product of the public school system, and ever since I was a teen I told myself that I would never place my children in the public schools. That being said, I praise God he places people like you to help those in need. I am have been in need of a better structure, and your site really helps me with that. First this is not really a repile. I want to leave my own comment but I cannot. I love EP. I have worked myself ahead a grade because the fifth grade work that I did was really easy. I am right now ding week 27 of a different school program that I do not even like. Me and four of my friends are going to do a ful year of EP just fo fun. Two of them are doing some of EP as there regular school. They were not the ones that foud this site thow. I did and I make a point of sperding it to all of my friends. I hope to do EP for some of my regualr school in seventh grade (When I am seventh grade adge, but doing eight grade school work). I have to say that this is a blessing to so many, and fun to many others. Thank you so much for making it free.
You and Easy Peasy are a Godsend. I started looking for a plan as I transition out of full-time work and into homeschooling in a few years. I was prepared for a lot of prep time and scheduling and head-spinning and instead, I found this. Last year I felt like such a failure as a homeschool mom. My oldest loved worksheets and would do table work all day. My 2nd is a kinesthetic/auditory learner and could not get through a whole day of learning stuff without a meltdown. But you and other moms, providing free curriculum and helpful insights into how to (and NOT to) homeschool have helped me so much.
